One of the very few (original) ‘House Music’ legends; beginning with and where
the popular nightclub sound manifested, Chicago, Illinois, many years ago;
Now, some twenty years later his distinct sound continues to soar.
DJ Kenny Ray’s beginnings are not unlike most young vinyl spinners carrying
records, setting up equipment, begging to be next to serve the crowd.
(aka the exact route some of today’s legends took such as Farley jackmaster
funk, Steve "silk" Hurley to name a few)
In the Chi’, you had to earn yours.
Like all new sounds, most thought this was just a trend. But just like rap
music, it grew and expanded, as has DJ Kenny Rays’ popularity. Has continued to
rise Worldwide and continues to maintain his reign as 1 of Chicago’s hottest
DJs.
This DJ is a mix master of the old school and new school house music only the
best of both make it to his dance floor. His musical selection never fails to
move the crowd.
It is not at all a mystery why the phone continues to ring, not just for local
Chicago affairs, but for national events both exclusive and for the general
public from the capacity crowds of more than 5,000 audience members @ Chicago

LA to WMC2006 regular this is a DJ that's in demand.
He also is a producer artist with his first official record “A GROOVE" "A groove
is a terrible thing to waste." And with that said, Kenny Ray (featured in the
"DJ Watch" section of one of the first issues of 5 Magazine) proceeds to lay
down this smooth track with plenty of grooves to pick up the most lifeless dance
floor. A steady, jacking drum line keeps the momentum going through a lush vocal
and bouncy organ hook. It's beautiful, luscious deep house with an old school
flavor. Kenny Ray was getting this track into a few select hands during WMC and
it's already starting to make the rounds
